Offshore oil is an advanced technique for established companies to get involved in the offshore extraction of oil resources. There are several steps that must occur to be able to extract offshore oil, and you can find details on the entire process in this and the linked articles below!

Helpful Tips

  • This is considered an advanced industry. You should not enter this entry without experience in other resource acquisition work.

  • This industry is very expensive to get into, and can cost well over 1b (billion!) in initial setup. Consider this before jumping in.

  • Finding an anomaly is not a guarantee of finding oil.

  • Oil deposits at sea generally carry a valuation of 1b up to 30-40b for very large deposits.

  • Some deposits will be very deep and only extractable by the largest and most expensive drill ships.
