Anomalies
Anomalies are items that are found by chance at sea by Survey Vessels. In order to search for anomalies, you must own a survey ship and send it out to do a survey exploration. If your survey ship finds something, it will appear in your inventory as an anomaly. There are currently three types of anomalies possible, and they are listed below along with their information and how to investigate them further.
Unknown Sea Anomaly
The first type of anomaly is the unknown sea anomaly. In order to investigate this anomaly you will need to have a Salvage ship. From the details page of the salvage ship, you will have the option to investigate unknown anomaly.
This will send the ship to investigate, and once investigated it will turn out to be Oil, Salvage, or Junk. It can take 3-15 days to analyze.
Salvage Anomaly
The second type of anomaly is the salvage anomaly. This anomaly is not currently able to be investigated further, but will be coming in the near future and has to do with the salvage industry.
Oil Anomaly
The third type of anomaly is the oil anomaly. Finding this type of anomaly will save you an extra step over an unknown anomaly. If you find this, or you have an unknown that turns out to be an oil anomaly, you will send a Survey Ship to survey the oil site/anomaly. This will help you determine the depth and size of the deposit which will give you the info needed to acquire a drillship capable of working the site.
