Specialty Research is research that is only possible using a company of the appropriate industry type. Every unique type of company that is non-generic has, or will have, specialty research. Below are the categories of research, and if you follow through to the linked pages, you will see the research options available to them currently.
Notice: Research is very early in development. If a research item has a warning sign that says “Effects Non-Active”, it means that currently, you can research the item, but it will have no effect. This is still a good option if you have nothing else to research and want to get ahead for when it does go live!

Important Notes
The specialty research system is designed to be a “One Step Forward, One Step Up” system. This means that every time you gain a certain amount of knowledge through research, you will need to apply that research into practical experience before continuing further.
Generally as you research higher and higher, you will unlock new things to research, more blueprints, etc. However, you will also require more practical knowledge and prerequisite tech to be able to complete those research items.
